The angels' message was binding because it was God's Word. In Scripture, angels never gave their own thoughts, interpretations, opinions, or ideas. When they spoke, they were simply relaying a message. But they spoke with authority because the message they relayed was from God. The world desperately needs more angels who will speak with authority from the Word of God. Our nation has been deluged and disgusted by reports of lies, immorality, and corruption at the highest levels of our leadership. While we are dismayed by the spin that has been put on these events by those who would manipulate our reaction for their own agendas, this AnGeL is encouraged that the subjects of sin, confession, and forgiveness have been brought to the forefront of national attention and debate. What an opportune time to relay a message from God, telling the world the truth according to His Word!

His Word

God has given us several opportunities to apply what the Bible says about the current situation not just during our ministry schedule of seminars and conferences, but also on national TV and radio talk shows.

And what does the Bible have to say?

  • The Bible says that all of us have sinned-not just the leaders in Washington.
    Rom. 3:23
  • The Bible says that just one sin-regardless if we consider it "big" or "small"-makes us guilty of all.
    James 2:10
  • The Bible says as sinners we will each stand before God and give an account to Him for our sin.
    Rev.20:11-15, Heb.9:27
  • The Bible says our condition is hopeless since we are condemned at birth by the sin with which we are born.
    John 3:17-18
  • The Bible says that God loves sinners and sent His only Son to be the atoning sacrifice for our sin.
    Rom.5:8
  • The Bible says that Jesus Christ is God's Son.
    Matt.3:17, Mark 9:7
  • The Bible says Jesus Christ is the only One who can save us from God's inevitable judgment for our sin.
    Acts 4:12
  • The Bible says if we confess our sin to Him, He will be faithful to cleanse and forgive us.
    1 John 1:9
  • The key word is "confess." And it does not mean to just admit our sin, but to say the same thing about it God does. In other words, we are not to switch the labels we give sin to make it seem less like sin. We do not label lying "misleading the public" or "exaggeration." We do not label adultery a "youthful indiscretion" or "an inappropriate relationship." We do not label murder "a woman's right to choose" or "assisted suicide." We do not label homosexuality "gay" or "an alternate lifestyle." If we want God to forgive us, we must agree with Him about our sin, using His terms, not ours. The Bible says we must repent of our sin with a truly broken and contrite spirit.
    Luke 13:3; Acts 3:19; Psa.34: 18, 51:17; Isa. 57:15, 66:2b
  • Repentance means to stop it-turn away from it-change your mind about sin and your involvement in it. The Bible says that there is power in the blood of Jesus Christ to forgive us from all sin and guilt.
    Eph.1:7-8; Rom.3:25-26; 1 John 1:7; Rev.1:5
  • The Bible says that when we have been forgiven by God for our sin we are made new in His sight.
    2 Cor.5:17
  • The Bible says when we have been made new in His sight, we are to accept the privilege and responsibility of telling others the truth!
    2 Cor.5:18-20
  • What God says is binding. We obey it to our benefit and disobey it to our detriment. God's Word is like the traffic signals and road markings that enable many drivers on the same road to get to their destination safely without hurting themselves or others. When we disobey God's Word, we are like a reckless driver, crashing through the red lights, passing on the solid yellow line, bringing harm to our own lives and the lives of those around us. But like O.J. Simpson, who stayed just ahead of the law as he fled down the Los Angeles freeway in his white Bronco, many people today seem to be able to keep just one step ahead of the "law"-escaping accountability for their sin. In fact, like the residents of Los Angeles who lined the streets and overpasses of the freeway to cheer O.J. on in his flight from justice, many people today line the highway of life to cheer the defiant sinner on! But the seeming escape from accountability is simply a delusion. A delusion that I believe includes our unparalleled prosperity so that many believe a lie - that there is no judgment for sin.
    2 Thes.2:11
  • As in Noah's day, the only reason we believe there will be judgment and accountability for sin is because God's Word says so.
    Matt.24:37-39
  • What a day and time in which to tell others what God's Word says! I am humbly and sincerely grateful to God for the opportunities He has given me over the past ten years to be an AnGeL! I praise God for AnGeL Ministries that has enabled me to proclaim the truth of His Word as clearly and as consistently, as broadly and as boldly, as effectively and creatively, as He has given me strength to wherever He has sent me and to whomever He has put in front of me. Praise God! In these days of darkness and delusion, compromise and confusion, the Light of His Word is still not overcome!
    John 1:5

The story is told that when Robert Louis Stevenson was a boy, he was sitting by his window, looking out into the darkness when his nanny called him to get ready for bed. Because he lingered at the window, the nanny walked over and asked him what he was looking at. He pointed to the lamp lighter who was walking down the street, lighting the lamps. "Look at that man, Nanny," little Robert exclaimed with obvious fascination and wonder. "He's putting holes in the darkness."

Thank you, dear brothers and sisters in Christ, for your faithfulness throughout these past ten years in supporting, encouraging, and praying for me as I have sought to put holes in the darkness! And this AnGeL thanks you, dear God, for the Light of Your unchanging, binding message of truth and hope!

In His Joy,

Anne Graham Lotz

Thank you for all the notes and letters of encouragement you have sent during the past ten years. The following is a sampling of your response to:

Tapes:

"As I listen to your tapes, I am being fed, ministered to and encouraged in my walk with our Lord Jesus." Conferences: "I did not realize how spiritually dry I was until I heard what you had to say... your words were like a refreshing waterfall on my desert heart."

Books:

"...it is so rich...like eating a whole box of chocolates at one time...I had to 'digest' it some before I went back to it. All I can say is WOW!"

Workshops:

"I've been a believer for 22 years, and along came Anne about 3 years ago and taught me how to study in a personal way. It has completely changed my life!"

Workbooks:

"We used your book and the workbook and have been able to grasp many concepts that we were afraid to study... I feel I have been given a key to a great treasure!"

Newsletters:

"Recently your AnGeL Newsletter encouraged me so much. The study on 'Defeating the Devil' was just what I needed. When I saw the study was on Ephesians 6, it was the very place God had taken me to teach me! I wept off and on all day... in the evening I soaked in the Bible Study. My questions were answered!"

Website:

"I went searching for anything by you and I found the AnGeL newsletter. I feel like a kid in a candy shop!"
