Uganda 2012

As I write this, it is New Year's Eve, a time to look back and praise God for leading us through 2011!  Like the prophet Samuel, we at AnGeL Ministries want to raise our
"Ebenezer" declaring that God has helped us all the way!

One of the most dramatic movements of God in our ministry this past year was the closing of the door for our October ministry initiative in Uganda.  God first gave us, then Pastor Michael, the inner conviction that this was not His time.  This conviction was then quickly confirmed by Tim Turner's fractured pelvis,  my diverticulitis, our Ugandan prayer chair's malaria, and the Vice-Chair's incapacitating illness.  There were also other practical circumstances beyond our control that would have made our ministry in Kampala weak and poorly attended.

But now, as we look ahead to 2012, we are very excited to once again be planning a ministry trip to Uganda!  God has strengthened our team in Uganda, healed Tim's fracture, and we believe has opened the door for us to go to this beautiful country in October of 2012.

As we have prayed over this unique opportunity, we have felt led to broaden our outreach.  Instead of trying to get pastors and leaders from the up-country to Kampala, we are planning to go to them!  As of today, we are planning three days of ministry to church leaders, women, and children in both Gulu in the up-country, and Kampala in the south.

Thank you for standing with us in prayer during the challenges of this past year.  Please continue to pray:

  • That what we plan would be exactly what God wants.
  • That every detail would fall into place.
  • That our Ugandan Team would maintain their momentum and commitment.
  • That the health and strength of all those involved would be protected.
  • That we could establish and maintain clear communication between those who have key leadership roles.
  • That God would be glorified during this process, as well as in the ministry initiatives themselves.

I thank my God every time I remember you.  In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the Gospel from the first day until now.    Philippians 1:3-5
